Although I find it on the pricier side for an overnight stay (comparing price/quality to what I have paid in other establishments), considering we are in Porto Moniz, I think the price is justified. Porto Moniz, with its marina, stunning natural swimming pools and nearby islets at Praia da Ribeira da Janela, is very popular with visitors to Madeira, and all these attractions, along with the restaurants, are just a stone's throw from the hotel. So the location is superb. Again, the reception deserves special mention - the room I was initially given faced the car park with minimal sea views (as I only paid for a side sea view). Having had a tough day, literally walking all day in the rain from Serrado, I asked if I could be moved to a higher floor or a room away from the car park so I could get a good night's sleep. The manager kindly gave me a room with direct sea views (also thanks to low season availability), for which I am very grateful. The quality is exactly what you get from the description and pictures. Loved the special touch the staff made with the extra toilet roll - first time I have seen it :) Breakfast was tasty with plenty of choice and the staff were really friendly and easy going. For dinner I avoided the pizzerias and seaside restaurants which seem to cater mainly to the tourist crowds. Instead I had a great Fruto do Mar salad at this lovely bistro called Conchinha nearby - with a balcony with a great view almost all to myself (the bliss of travelling alone!).

There is a massage offered for extra fee, the receptionist could arrange if for me for the very next morning we arrived (we arrived after 7pm). I would really recommend! The receptionists were helpful. I dont know why would anyone critise the breakfast (except the coffee...) because it was indeed very good with a wide variety. The tea is Tetley! One day I wanted to try all the things and selections but could not manage. We had the sea view room, we could hear the sound of the waves and it was facing towards the rock pool. Porto Moniz not a bustling city, it is more a small town so it was very quite around the hotel, despite right next to the promenade. There is a small general shop one street uphill. The hotel room was a standard hotel room...The bathroom was nearly half the size of the room. There was a balcony with table and chairs. There were shutters and double curtains. Of course extra blankets and pillows are there. They made our beds everyday.

The room was perfect size, we had a tiny balcony facing the mountains with lovely sunlight in the morning. We had a bathtub which was a great thing on top of the swimming pool that the hotel offer. Breakfast was very tasty and had a variety of things from different types of bread, some fruit, cold meats, cereal, typical biscuits and beans and eggs, among other things. In late march, was easy to park around the hotel and the staff was really helpful with recommendations for dinner.

Perfect hotel in a perfect location. Love this small hotel with spacious high ceiling rooms, functional bathrooms and comfy beds. The Hotel is almost opposite the Restaurante Vista Mar which serves delicious Madeiran local cuisine. We love this quiet hotel and all the staff are delightful.

The hotel is close to both natural swimming pools. The breakfast was excellent and the offer was wide. There was peace. The hotel parking lot is a great advantage because at the time of arrival the public parking lots in the area were crowded. The staff was very nice and helpful.
